A Peek Inside Angelina Jolie's Stunning Home

Ever wondered where your favourite A-listers have been holed up during the pandemic? Angelina Jolie—the enigmatic screen siren, humanitarian and mum of six has been nestled away in the hillside enclave of Loz Feliz in LA. The sprawling compound, set on 2.1 acres, is steeped in Old Hollywood history and charm.

Shortly after her divorce in 2017, Jolie purchased the mansion, which sits in the gated Laughlin Park community, for close to US$25 million. One of the many drawcards is the property's proximity to ex-husband Brad Pitt's LA residence, just over 3km away.

The estate was built just before Hollywood's Golden Era and was owned by legendary Cecil B. DeMille, known as the founding father of American cinema and one of the most successful producer-directors in the history of film. The iconic director, best known for his biblical epics such as The Ten Commandments and Samson and Delilah, lived beside none other than silent screen star Charlie Chaplin, who later became one of his dear friends.

According to Architectural Digest, a 1915 prospectus described the subdivision as "a residential paradise on a noble eminence, a replica of Italy's finest landscape gardening linked to the city by a perfect auto road." The hillside residence has recently undergone a six-year renovation and restoration and, though fully modernised, has managed to retain its original Beaux-Arts style and beautifully landscaped gardens.

The main house is spread over 7,500 ft and has six bedrooms, ten bathrooms with art deco features, a gourmet kitchen, a cosy library with bookshelves that reach the ceiling, a dark-wood-panelled dining room, a grand foyer with an elegant staircase, as well as hardwood floors throughout. The property is also home to an impressive wine cellar tucked neatly away in the basement.

But that is not all; outside is a spacious patio, a rose garden, manicured lawns dotted with Jacaranda trees, not to mention an old Hollywood-style pool, tea house, studio, and pool house.

The estate also boasts incredible views of the city and ocean, with the private terrace off the master bedroom enjoying views of iconic Griffith Observatory in the distance. You can't get any more Hollywood than that.
