You have created the perfect kitchen aesthetic—country chic, modern, sleek, traditional, simple, or perhaps rustic? But this carefully planned out aesthetic is quickly marred by an unsightly silver appliance.

Thankfully, one company has transformed our kitchen counters forever: Smeg. The world-famous Italian home appliance manufacturer has been committed to bringing everyday objects to life since its launch in 1948.

Not only are the brand's appliances functional, durable, and safe but ever so easy on the eye, adding a pop of colour and cool to any counter. Smeg has a broad selection of stylish appliances both large and small, ranging from ovens, fridges, wine cellars and dishwashers to blenders, juicers, toasters and of course, their fan favourite…the kettle.

Smeg's coveted range of '50s style kettles offers a stainless-steel body, 1.7-litre capacity (that’s 7 cups), and a cordless base so it can be positioned wherever without messy cords. Yes, please! Not only that, but the kettles come in a variety of colours, including cream, white, black, red, pink, and pastel blue or green.

And while they certainly don’t come cheap, fans of Smeg swear that these kettles are worth the money. With an overwhelming amount of 5-star reviews, it’s clear that they are worth the money.

Why Smeg Kettles are Worth It

  • The Look: They look great on any bench top and can easily coordinate with any kitchen decor.

  • The Temperature: Unlike your standard kettle, the Smeg versions offer variable temperature settings. This means you can finally brew your tea at the right temperature, or heat water up without bringing it to a full boil.

  • No Cords: The Smeg kettle features a cordless design, which means no award plugging/ unplugging to pour your morning cuppa.

  • Quiet: May reviewers note the Smeg kettles seem to be more quiet than the average one. Perfect for those morning when you wake up early and want to turn on the kettle without waking the whole house up.

  • Large Capacity: Smeg kettles have a 1.7 litre capacity. This is great for those who have large families, and comes in handy when boiling large amounts of water—like when making pasta.

The line is called "Sicily is my love" and is comprised of toasters, citrus juicers, coffee machines, kettles, blenders, stand mixers and slow juicers. Each appliance is decorated with gold lemons, citrus fruits, bright red cherries and prickly pears, with colours and motifs that capture the essence of Sicily.
