This Amazing Beauty Device Gives You a Hands-Free Manicure in 10 Minutes

With the massive rise in at-home beauty machines on the market (thanks, pandemic) we can now get clinic-level results from the comfort of our living rooms. Think microdermabrasion, extraction, LED treatments, massage and much, much more. One salon treatment that’s had us stumped, however, is a professional manicure.

So when we came across this beauty device that can give you a hands-free (excuse the pun) manicure, we were chuffed.

Nimble is a new device that uses pioneering technology to scan and assess your fingernails and give you a salon-quality manicure at home. That’s right, no more spilt polish, uneven finishes, painted skin, wonky lines or smudges.

Because of the quality of the polish and the success of the drying step, the polish will last about a week without chipping. If you’re careful, it could even last longer—almost unheard of for traditional polish!

Then, to remove your polish, just use your standard acetone or acetone-free nail polish remover on cotton pads. Couldn’t be easier.

This nifty little machine works on fingers of all shapes, sizes and colours (but not toes yet, unfortunately). It took the team four years to develop an algorithm that lets the machine accurately scan your nails and customise a painting sequence.

The initial launch will include around twenty colours, ranging from a neutral blush to a glossy black, but expect the range to grow once launched. The formulation means the finish is high-shine and durable, and all the polishes are completely non-toxic, cruelty-free and free from formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor, formaldehyde resin, parabens, xylene, gluten, synthetic camphor or latex—no nasties here!

The machine itself is safe to use, with no UV light needed to set the polish.

The way it works is kind of like a Nespresso machine for your nails. Pick your shade, then slot the polish capsules—base, colour and topcoat—into the machine. Slot your hand into the space, and sit tight for ten minutes. All three coats will be flawlessly applied and dried in less time than it takes to watch an episode of Seinfeld.

It’s currently available for pre-order and we’ve got our name on the list. If you order now, you’ll get US$100 off the US$399 RRP and three free polish sets.

Upgrade Your Manicure With a Nail Printer

If you’d rather go for something a bit extra for your nails, look to a nail printing device.

Might we suggest O’2 Nails, a printer that prints any design of your choosing onto your fingernails in seconds. This high-tech machine uses inkjet technology (like what you find in a regular printer) and gel polish to print images, patterns and even words directly onto your artificial or natural nails.

The connected app lets you choose from hundreds of preloaded designs, or you can create your own nail art by uploading your photos or images. The art lasts for up to four weeks, then you remove it with regular nail polish remover.

Another option is the Dionlink Portable Nail Printer, it works in exactly the same way—you choose existing patterns or upload your own to the app, then connect your phone to the printer and let it do its magic.

Beautiful nails have never been so quick or easy. Just add a massage chair to one of these machines and you’ve got your own on-call nail expert.
